Hershey Area Playhouse Theatre Academy Announces Acting Classes

Classes for Students Grades K-12 and Adults Being Held in Fall 2017

HERSHEY, Pa., August 21, 2017 – Taught by instructors with experience in theatre and education, Hershey Area Playhouse’s Theatre Academy announces its fall 2017 acting classes.

Welcome back to school and welcome to another year of the popular Hershey Area Playhouse acting classes for kids and adults! Classes for children and youth begin on Saturday, September 16th and continue for 8 weeks until November 4th. Adult classes begin Monday September 25th and run every Monday evening for 6 weeks until October 30th.

Classes for children and youth are taught by experienced educators who specialize in both theatre and education and are based in standards for excellence in Theatre education. This fall, lead teachers will be local playwright Jennifer Feldser and area director and theatre educator Jill Panyard. These repeatable classes cycle through a curriculum designed around fun skill building for theatre which stretches imaginations and builds creativity.

The Fall 2017 semester classes will focus on all the ways we tell stories, from storybooks to comedy improv, even finding the scene between the stories. All classes meet at the Hershey Area Playhouse, on the campus of Country Meadows in Hershey. Meeting every Saturday, September 16th through November 4th will be grades Kindergarten- 3rd from 9:00-10:30 a.m., Saturday, grades 4-6 meet from 10:30 AM-12:00 p.m. and grades 7-12 from 1:00 PM-3:00 p.m.

Back by popular demand this fall are our adult offerings on Monday evenings beginning Monday September 25th and running through Monday October 30th, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Classes will be taught by veteran actor and improv specialist Lisa Lutton Weitzman, most currently seen on area stages as one of a trio of comediennes that make up the Coffee With Crones comedy improv team.
